Treatment - (Our Last Night - Fate)

Concept - One main actor, one person sat thinking about suicide.

Performance & Narrative – The main character is going to be sat under a tree and with the use of a time lapse, we will put emphasis on how long he has been sat there thinking. The suicide will be as a result of ______. Have the character with a newspaper showing the article mentioning the reason for him being in the situation he is i.e. family death, close friend dying, car accident.

Camera & editing – We aim to have a mixture of shots including:
-       Arc Shot – to track around the tree showing the live performance and the character sat at the tree.
-       Close Ups – to show the newspaper articles and the tying of the rope for his noose. Some of the guitar during the live performance
-       Meet Shots – of the band members while performing

Lighting – We are going to be filming this is broad daylight, as we wanted to carry the light forward so that we can use it for the Digipak and the Advert. This is why in our research we have also evaluated digipak’s with a lot of light in them, so that ours didn’t look out of place or not a connotation of the Rock genre.

Dance/Live Performance - While showing the narrative of the boy sat under the tree, we will have two member of the band playing guitar and singing on the opposite side of the tree. All characters, includin5gbg the band members will be sat with their backs against the tree.

Location – Under a tree, preferably a field to show the sun rising and setting. Our tree is situated in the North Cemetery, away from the gravestones. As this is not the look we are going for, although we are doing a rock genre song.

Techniques – Stop Motion
·     Get Scared – Told Ya So – the paper is burned then played backwards, this would be the narrative of someone making a bad choice, then remaking a good one. i.e Attempting fate then rewinding and then showing a good choice.

·     Location in an open wide space, so that you can clearly see the sky for a time lapse. Film someone sitting with the sky in the background. Film until it gets dark, and then speed up the recording. So it looks like the character has been thinking for hours.

·     We aim to use a sunset time lapse at the beginning to show the characters thoughts getting darker. Then at the end after all of their problems have been resolved to have a sunrise time lapse to show their thoughts getting brighter again.
